The PR-2 is adaptable to various shipping methods and will prevent and/or decrease your damage claims. Whenever there is a container or trailer with wood decking our PR-2 system can become your success story.
Our PR-2 system is primarily used for securing loads stacked on pallets but is not limited to that application. Our PR-2's have been customized to meet unique load configurations. PR-2's are excellent for staggered loads and loads bearing weight on the rear doors of the container or trailer. They have also been used to compliment other blocking and bracing systems used in the industry. Please keep in mind all of the numerous possibilities you have when considering the PR-2's.
PR-2's are inexpensive and reusable. With a small investment you will begin to see your returns almost immediately. They will not only prevent damage claims but will save time and money on the dock, especially if you're still using the traditional lumber bracing method.
PR-2's have been lab tested to withstand more than 5000 pounds of lateral force. The decking will fail before the PR-2's begin to lose their foothold. Field tests on tough intermodal shipments have been performed resulting in great success.
The other integral part of our PR-2 system is the fastener used to secure the device to the decking of the trailer or container. As much consideration went into the fastener as the PR-2. We supply custom manufactured double-headed nails. They are of a specific gauge to meet the specs of the five receptacles in the PR-2.
They are also of a specific length so as to not penetrate the decking and cause interference with the underneath mechanics on the containers or trailers. The double headed nail makes unloading fast and easy because you have an adequate area to pry using a claw hammer or pry bar.
